ABSTRACT SUBMISSIONS
Abstract Process is Now Closed
- Abstracts for Oral or Poster Presentations; Abstract submissions are in keeping with the focus on nursing excellence and evidence-based practice, including knowledge development, knowledge transfer, practice change, clinical innovation, and structure, process and outcomes evaluation reflecting one or more of the following conference themes:
- Clinical Practice
- Nursing and/or health care administration (e.g., strengthening work environments)
- Nursing and/or health care education
- Nursing and/or health care research
- Nursing and/or health care policy
- Abstracts for symposium sessions – symposium sessions must include at least 4 abstracts related to one topic or theme from the lists above. All abstracts should be submitted under the category of symposium and a short paragraph will be provided to describe the topic/theme and the symposium goals.
SELECTION PROCESS
A blind review and selection process was conducted by a scientific committee.Submissions were assessed for inclusion in one of the following formats:
- Concurrent paper presentation (20-minute oral presentation inclusive of question/answer)
- Poster presentation. Posters will be displayed in a predominant area at the conference.
SELECTION CRITERIA
Selection criteria include: relevance to conference goals; direct link to specified theme; clarity; nature of the activity, strategy or innovation. All abstracts have a word limit of 300 words, not including learning objectives, abstract title or author’s information. Objectives are limited to 2 objectives per abstract and 25 words per objective. Any abstract longer than 300 words will not be accepted.
ABSTRACT ACCEPTANCE REQUIREMENTS
Submitted abstracts will be acknowledged via email to the primary contact upon receipt. Selection will be completed and abstract authors will be notified via email by August 15, 2011. All successful authors must register for the conference by September 27, 2011 to be included in the conference program.
Any accepted abstract that does not have at least 1 acknowledged author registered for the conference by September 27, 2011 will not be included in the program. All costs are the sole responsibility of presenters, and HMO nor RNAO, do not provide funds or reimbursement for any part of the conference registration, honourarium, travel costs or any other expenses for those whose abstract is accepted.
